Weekend at Cotswold

Side note : I'm aware this post isn't very well worded. I'm down with a terrible food allergy and have been given antihistamine to calm the bug down. Drowsiness got the best of me and words fail me today! A proper post on the beautiful village and our shenanigans will be up next week or so!

It has always been my dream to camp in the woods, set a bonfire and sleep in a tent. So much so, that it has made it to the top five in my bucket list! Although, what we went for isn't exactly 'camping', but at least it's a step closer.

Camping out in England seems bleak as the weather is always on the colder side. One simply cannot trust the sun! Unless you want to freeze to death or wake up drenched in the rain, sleeping outside isn't the best idea.
Our initial plan for the trip was simple and for no more than two days - drive down, explore the village, crash in a hotel at night and drive back home the next day. Finding this was a happy accident and thought it would be a good idea to give it a go.
Sheperd's hut rockery farm is a set of three cabins, placed in the middle of a huge farm in the heart of Cotswold village. The view of the farm is quiet stunning, to say the least. Picturesque, quaint and extremely calming.
We reached there post noon, checked in and chucked our bags in the cabin and went for a short walk. The air was crisp and sun made an appearance  every now and then.We felt so at ease. It's perfect for someone who wants to get away from the hustle-bustle of a busy city life. The breeze was extra strong which made our eyes squint and water. We did manage to stop over for a few pictures though.
After the short walk and photo session, we retired back to our cabin for a cup of tea. The cabin is so cosy and perfect for two. It has all the comforts of a typical hotel room but is very conveniently set in the midst of a farm giving it a proper country feel. A refreshing change for sure.
The night was a bit scary because it started absolutely chucking it down like there was no tomorrow. We got a tiny bit anxious as the cabin was in the middle of nowhere. We cozied up in the bed and fell asleep to the sound of rain, hoping the downpour will subside by the next day.
And as expected, the next day was glorious! The sun was shining through and it was a perfect day to explore the place. There is something so refreshing and rejuvenating about waking up to the sound of birds and looking out to lush greenery first thing in the morning. No mobile phones, no laptop and no internet.Bliss!

This place is perfect for anyone who enjoys countryside and wants to get away for a day or two from their busy tech-locked life. We certainly did enjoy our stay and would love to go back one day!

Toddle pip! xx
